Coaches and Managers,

Due to the amount of rain that has fallen and with the current forecast calling for additional precipitation tonight and into Friday, unfortunately at this time York County must deem the York County Sports Complex fields as unplayable for this Saturday and Sunday. While it was their intention to try and wait this out a bit and perhaps look at Sunday as an alternative, their turf coordinator has advised them to stay off the fields throughout the weekend and allow them ample time to drain and dry. This included two baseball/softball tournaments that they had to cancel as well.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes your organization and the teams that were to travel from out of town to participate in the 2009 Virginia Holiday Shootout. The Tournament Committee feels that by canceling the tournament prior to out of town teams departing it will lessen the expenses for most families. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Several age groups of the Raleigh North Carolina Shootout were canceled along with the Richmond Fall Capital and our Virginia Holiday Shootout have all been canceled as of this evening. The NNFC Tournament Staff will meet in the next week or so to discuss rebates off our future tournaments or some other viable option. York County was disappointed in having to revoke our application as they were looking forward to having their 1st soccer tournament since opening up.

For those booking rooms through CSTT, Sandy Sargeant has been sent an e-mail regarding the cancellation of the tournament. Please have each manager follow up with her in lieu of each individual parent as this will slow down the response time on her end.
