F.C. Welcome Coaches and Managers, Newport News FC is pleased to invite your team to apply to the NNFC Summer 7’s Soccer Classic, to be held July 17, 2010.
Don't miss this chance to turn your next tournament The tournament will be played in Newport News at Riverview Farm Park and will be open to recreational teams as well as Travel teams. All games will be played within a 5 hour time period (as scheduling permits) so teams will be waiting for a game no longer than an hour or so between games. We hope your team considers joining us for what we anticipate will be one of the first summer tournament opportunities available in the Hampton Roads area. General Tournament Information
FORMAT - Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games with all finals played on the same day. Both Boys and Girls will play on July 17th. COMPETITION - The tournament offers divisions for:
ELIGIBILITY - This is a VYSA Sanctioned Event and opens to all Premier, Classic and Challenge level teams including AYSO teams. ROSTER SIZE - Restrictions to size of roster is listed in the rules but 10 is the recommended size. Teams with upwards of 18 on rosters should consider registering 2 teams to provide ample playing time for all players on the roster. Please see official tournament rules for roster sizes per age group. AWARDS - Individual player awards and team awards will be presented to the first and second place teams in each division. Please be advised that tournament medals will be used from the Spring Soccer Shootout since that tournament was not played due to weather conditions and medals were already purchased. ENTRY FEES
Important Information REFEREES - A USSF (1) one man system will be used for all preliminary matches U10 thru U14. All U15 and above will use a (2) two man system in addition to all semi-final and final matches in every age group. REGISTRATION - Registration will take place no more than one-half hour prior to teams 1st match. Teams must submit 2 copies of their 2009-2010 current state approved roster, official tournament roster, and medical release forms (notary not required). Your current league/club medical release forms are acceptable. GUEST PLAYERS - Every team is allowed to bring up to 5 guest players with them. There are no special forms for guest players, simply write the player's name and information on a COPY (not original) of your roster to be turned in a registration. Guest players must also have a medical release form. DEADLINE - July 1, 2010 - Mailed applications without application fee will not be accepted. Faxed and Emailed Applications can not be accepted. Online registrations submitted without a check by the deadline will be placed on the waiting list. NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE - Acceptance Notices will be E-mailed as our tournament committee receives your team's application and the tournament fee. Registration fees are due within 10 days of submitting application. Teams not submitting entry fee will not be placed on tournament schedule. The tournament committee strongly suggests early registration to ensure selection. If your team is not accepted, a refund check will be mailed after July 20, 2010. (If a team drops for any reason after acceptance is confirmed, all fees are forfeited.) A $50.00 charge will be assessed for any returned checks. SCHEDULE - To accommodate late registrations, schedules will be posted by July 10, 2010. CLUB DISCOUNTS - We offer clubs bringing 5 teams or more a discount on registration fees.
