Newport News FC is proud to offer one of the finest Youth Development Programs in Virginia.

In our U9 program, professional coaches teach players proper ball skills and basic decision making principals needed to play competitive youth soccer. Our program is modeled after the Dutch Total Soccer System where young players play small-sided games that require every player to make attacking and defending decisions.

In addition to the training sessions, the U9 team plays friendly 7 aside matches against other travel level teams and some local travel tournaments throughout the year.

Tryouts for the U9 Program are open year round. However, the official season runs from August 15th for the Fall, January - March - Indoor League and March 15th in the Spring. The program is exclusively for U8 and U9 boys and girls.

To set up a tryout for this program, please send an email to academy@newportnewsfc.com and call our Director of Coaching at 757-753-3968.

Emails should include your name, your child's name, your child's date of birth, contact phone numbers and alternate email addresses. Payment for this program should only be made once your child is accepted.

A club waiver is required and should be turned in when your child attends tryouts.
