About Eric
Eric plays midfield/forward for Newport News FC (Virginia Rank: 10th as of May 2010 with 63.2% winning average) and Tabb High School Junior Varsity (Rank: #1 in 10 game season) as starting forward STRIKER. Coach Cousineau states (2009 Club Season), “Of all the new players, I would consider Eric the MVP, Eric earned a starting position and proved to be able to play multiple positions.” In addition to soccer, he is an avid lacrosse player, plays middy/faceoff for his club and travel team, averaging 1-3 goals per game—heartbeat of the team and lead scorer with countless assists. Off season he cross-trains in Lacrosse, Club in-door soccer, High School in-door track, and club swim team during the summer. A natural athlete! |

Stats and Achievements Eric Riha, STRIKER for the Tabb “Tigers” Junior Varsity soccer team racked up 10 goals (average 1 goal per game), 14 assists, and 2 for 2 Free Kicks; notably delivering his final Free Kick past a five man wall, bending around the wall into the upper 90 from 25 yards out. The team earned its #1 JV soccer team ranking with an 8-2-0 overall record for the 2010 Virginia High School League (VHSL) soccer season. In 8 league games, Eric’s club team only surrendered 9 goals (second best in the league) and scored the second highest number of goals 20 to 21 than any other team—coach indicates it was a credit to the teams MVPs. Eric is a very strong player with tremendous acceleration, endurance, and displays excellent technique, agility and speed. |
